Wednesday April 11, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. in US District Court in Greensboro, North Carolina we will be having a hearing before Magistrate Judge Sharp regarding our request for a preliminary injunction. We have requested that RegisterFly immediately release all domain names, allowing them to be transferred to a new registrar. However, since we believe that RegisterFly may be on the verge of shutdown, we are also moving for an immediate injunction, asking the Court to order that RegisterFly turn over all data to ICANN, so that information still “trapped” will be safe when RegisterFly inevitably crashes completely. There are a lot of things going on here and now we're hearing that ICANN may be seeking immunity from United States Law as stated in the president's strategy committee report, "explore the private international organization model" and "operationalize whatever outcomes result." As many of you may already know, there is a class action lawsuit against ICANN, Registerfly and Enom. Check out the latest developments in the lawsuit. So what's really going on here? RegisterFly open forum discussion ICANN will be holding a special session in the open forum at its Lisbon meeting on Monday 26 March 2007. President and CEO Paul Twomey will give his president's report at 10.30am in which he will briefly cover what should be discussed in the session. The session proper will then start at 12pm GMT/UTC with a rundown on what happened and what the current situation is, given by senior vice president of services, Kurt Pritz, followed by a panel discussion and open floor for questions.
