line-breeding.jpgWho is Regfly

Registerfly.com is now forwarded to the new Regfly.com.  It's looks very similar and it's obvious it's Registerfly... Right? Well at this point, we're not exactly sure and haven't seen any press release or news about this.  However, we did get a chance to talk to some interesting people that may help understand as well as a live online chat with Bob at Regfly.com and it's very interesting to read his responses.  He was not interested in answering a few easy questions about Regfly and I'm posting them here.  Read them for yourself.

NamePros.com Chat

On NamePros, domain forum, this chat was posted by RickM. Interesting and I'm going to point a couple things out.

You are now chatting with bob.

bob: hello how can i help you
ME: Hi, why has your company registerfly rebranded to regfly?
bob: did not know we where not allowed to rebrand
ME: I was just wondering what the reason was for the rebranding, is it to avoid having to keep the ICANN termination notice or something else?
bob: well the company was sold in aug of 07
bob: so its not the same owners
bob: or mngt
bob: the new owners will be moveing all services over to regfly.com
bob: as well as a new site design
bob: and more tools
bob: i belive the process has already started
bob: the icann termination notice has nothing to do with us any more
ME: Sold to who? Robert O'Neill (CEO) was in the picture before the sale, and is still the CEO of RegisterFly...I know Kevin is now gone, and hope you guys can get the place back. However people (including myself) still have funds in their accounts that cant be used....I cant do anything in my account as its all broken.
bob: that served for the domain registrar part of the company who we no longer own or do any thing with as those names where trasfered to go daddy
bob: yes
bob: yes i was the GM            Sealed
bob: of rfly when we had the problems
bob: i came on in feb of 07
bob: i bought the company from kevin   Surprised
bob: in aug
bob: well just the site
bob: as well as 2 other investors
bob: in hopes of rebuilding the brand    Innocent
ME: Ahh ok...I remember you were trying to help out....so whats happening to kevin? Will he be taken to court or anything?
bob: kevin has had nothing to do with this company since july of 07
bob: not a clue
bob: what happned to him
bob: lol
Read the entire quote in the thread located here   (opens in new window)

Interesting indeed.  So bob was correct, Robert James Oneill filed a Florida For Profit Corporation and is listed as all the officers as well.  He used an agent for the puposes of privacy reasons.  So according to what Bob is saying and the legal documents, Robert Oneill now owns Registerfly and Regfly.com both, and is starting a new business.  This was him above, "yes i was the GM of rfly when we had the problems".  If you'll notice he talks in the third person and then as Robert.  So what's the scoop?

Registerflies Chat with Bob at Regfly.com

Well, before we get too far, I also was in live support chat and had a few questions myself and this is that discussion:

You are now chatting with bob.

bob: hello how can i help you

curious: yes, I'm a little confused

curious: who are you reselling domains for

curious: because registrations weren't working just months ago

curious: ?

bob: you seem to be mistaken

bob: registration are working fine

bob: we are a tucows reseller   --

curious: who are you reselling domains for

curious: ok

curious: are you Robert Oneil

bob: tucows

curious: Are you the owner?

curious: Robert Oneil

bob: and you are who ?

curious: I'm a registrant

bob: curious is such a nice name

curious: but I asked a question

bob: thats good for you

curious: I haven't seen any press release saying Registerfly was sold

bob: are you a client ?

bob: or some one looking to start trouble ?

curious: previously yes

bob: what is your user id

bob: ?>

curious: No, I asked a simple question

curious: because of the history of Registerfly

bob: and i am asking you what your user id is

curious: just looking for some simple answers

bob: what is the question

curious: I don't have a user ID but if I'm going to purchase domain names

bob: you want answered

curious: are you Robert Oneil

bob: if you have a question email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

curious: in Namepros someone said Robert bought the business off of Kevin

curious: Why are you so hesitant to give answers?

bob: the code for the site yes

bob: was sold

bob: in aug of 07

curious: OK

bob: to retail web solutions

curious: To who?

curious: Retail websolutions is new

curious: and under Robert Oneil

curious: with the same Phone number

curious: as the former Registerfly

curious: so I'm confused

curious: and before I purchase names or hosting

bob: ok what phone number

curious: the number on the whois

bob: 1st we do not offer phone support only ticket and chat

curious: are you Robert Oneil?

curious: Ok, you may want to update that number

bob: 1st spell the name right

bob: its oneill

bob: 2nd if you have a question

curious: OK

bob: please email it in

curious: So you are Robert

bob: what are you looking to do

bob: ?

curious: purchase names

bob: ok

curious: but before purchases went through

bob: we are a reseller for tucows

curious: but names were not registered

curious: Ok, what about the hosting

bob: user id

curious: where is that located?

bob: give me a user id

curious: I don't have one

bob: so i can see what you are talking about

curious: I don't have a user ID

bob: severs are located in miami

curious: If you purchased the code in august

curious: my user ID wouldn't be available

bob: ok

curious: because all you purchased was the code right?

curious: didn't GoDaddy purchase the domains and information

bob: so if you want to register new domain names you will need to open up another account

curious: last year sometime

curious: I understand that but with the history of this company

curious: I'm sure you can see my hesitation

curious: Is this a one man band company?

bob: i can uderstand

curious: Bob being Robert?

curious: am I correct

bob: nope we have different support i just happen to take the chat

bob: do you want to speak to some one else ?

curious: Also, why haven't you sent out a press Release about the purchase

bob: you will see it

curious: no, I wanted to know if I was speaking to Robert

bob: once the redesign is done

curious: and if Robert is the owner of the business

bob: if you look on the home page you will see a pealback

curious: I see that

curious: but you still haven't answered my question

curious: are you Robert Oneill

bob: befor its rolled out we want it to be fully done

curious: or aren't you?

bob: which is what

bob: ?

curious: I understand that

curious: Are you Robert Oneill

curious: how many times should I ask

bob: what is the question is this a diffrent company ?

curious: it would make me more comfortable if I knew I was talking to the owner

bob: i dont see why that matters

bob: you are speaking to some one from the company

bob: if you want to have a question answered from robert email him

curious: What is it you all are trying to hide?

bob: you have the email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

curious: I don't understand

bob: not trying to hide any thing

curious: you purchased the domain name as well?

curious: sure you are

curious: you can't answer the question of are you Robert

bob: have a great day

curious: but expect me to spend my money with you

bob: cant wait to see this conversation posted some place  ---  LOL Cool

curious: I want to know who I'm doing business

bob: not expecting you to spend any money

curious: Just be honest pal

bob: honest about what

curious: honesty is best policy

curious: or aren't you aware of that

bob: do you want to register a domain name

bob: if so

bob: lets do it

bob: if not i have to move on as i have others to chat with

curious: no, I want to know first if you are Robert Oneill

curious: and how owns this business

curious: so I can feel better about doing business

bob: if you look the site is owned by RWS

curious: Ok

curious: RWS owns 6000+ domain names

bob: as u know there are alot of nasty ppl trying to do bad things so if you want info email your request  Surprised

curious: Who is RWS

curious: No, the only one who's done nasty things is Registerfly

curious: in the past

bob: retail web solutions

curious: so don't start blaming customers

curious: OK

bob: yes because you know every thing right ?

curious: Who owns Retail Web Solutions

curious: No, I'm asking

Chat was ended by the operator.  Sealed

Registerfly or Regfly.com is a Tucows Reseller

Robert said it himself and that's what Registerfly was previously... those were the days.  Tucows verified that they were a reseller and I'll tell you more about that conversation but first, I'd like to give Tucows a chance to repsond to a couple questions I put in an email today.

What we know for sure

  1. Robert Oneill registered a business called Retail Web Solutions, Inc..  9-14-2007 a Dissolution was recorded for Unified Names Inc.
  2. Kevin is behind this and working with Robert Oneill based on quality information.
  3. Tucows is supporting the both of them for some reason.
  4. ICANN notice was taken off their website

What's going on here?  Wasn't this the same company that turned the entire domain industry on it's ear, being run by the same two people during the fall of Registerfly?  Don't you think that if, for some reason, they wanted to rebuild this brand.. That there would be some sort of public notice or press release?   Has ICANN shown us once again those pearly whites?  What's wrong with this picture?   ... If anyone can shed some light on this cotinuing debacle, please comment below.

avatar I can't believe that crminal Kevin is still allowed to roam the streets and pray on innocent, young registrants. Someone should lock him up.

Well i see registerfly has removed the notice and when i tried to log into my account i was given a notice that i aparently owe them 40 dollars and they sent it to a third party to be collected well
#1. i moved what domains they didnt steal from there to Moniker
#2. I never had any services or domains left so hmm what is the 40 dollars for ?
#3. are they charging me for renewing domains that they stole ?

this whole thing just boggles my mind that Kevin is not behind bars and he continues to attempt to rip people off
