As every day passes, one has to wonder how Registerfly is still open for business and why?  Well, thanks to an insider that works closely with Kevin, we were able to squeeze a little information from this source as to just how much money Kevin is continuing to milk out of Registerfly customers that have no idea as to what's going on with the company.

Everyday someone still visits registerfly.  While we don't know the exact traffic, and insider working at the Florida location has reported some interesting information about how much money Registerfly is still taking in.  It's been reported to us that Registerfly is pulling in between $5000 - $15,000 us dollars on any given day and not rendering services paid for.  On the 16th of this month our sources told us that over $5200 was received by Kevin Medina and Registerfly by way of Paypal alone.  While Humboldt may have shut down Registerfly's credit card merchant account, Paypal and MoneyBookers are still accepting funds through the Registerfly interface.

It was further reported by this source that there have been deposits over $1000 and some customers have made multiple deposits and keep making deposits into their account which actually reflects a balance in the interface but the money is not really there.

As we communicated with this insider, he updated us on some of the things that Kevin Medina was up to which included the prolonging of the ICANN situation as well as Kevin reporting that his car was stolen on April 2nd in New York City.  While we don't know if this insider is completely legitimate, it seems as though they knew enough about Registerfly's business to give exact numbers on daily transactions completed through the Registerfly system.

Our insider also wanted everyone to know that the vps hosting was supported by SWsoft.com as of recent but Kevin refused to pay the $3000+ overdue invoice and SWsoft.com finally shut them down so now vps hosting is no longer alive.  He also reported that Kevin owes both Tucows and Melbourne IT thousands of dollars in which he refuses to pay as this sinking ship continues to rake in thousands of dollars a day.  The source says that Kevin is also parking domains and making money from Registerfly customers domain names and is working with CogitGroup.com to monitize the domain names owned by Registerfly that were lost by Registerfly customers and collecting ppc revenue from that as well.

While the above information is said to be true, it cannot be verified so understand that it should only be used for entertainment purposes only.  This source identified himself as Robert but did not want to give us any more details.  He did however say that he was going to post in the forums some information that may be of help for the customers so we look forward to see his posts soon.  Thank you Robert or whomever you are.

This is unbelievable.  We have a company that is continuing to collect money from people on a daily basis and they are still in business... or at least still have Paypal collecting money from them.  On April 18, 2007 I personally called PayPal and they refused to discuss this but did say that they would look into the matter and put a stop to it.  As of today, our source says the payments haven't stopped coming in.

With all that going on, it's hard to say how or why.  While there are many of us that frequent this website for updates, there are many more that do not have a clue.  Something has got to be done!  If someone shoplifts they are arrested and it's taken very seriously, yet a website such as Registerfly can operate and be open for business literally stealing thousands of dollars a day from their customers.... it's no wonder why Kevin is prolonging this.

Hopefully ICANN will be able to get this data quickly and get these names moved out.  As for Registerfly still in business, the Feds need to look into this and take action immediately... maybe they are building a case.  Let's see what happens next...

Attention Kevin Medina:

Please end this nonsense.  You are hurting people for the benefit of yourself and your closest friends are beginning to see this and those who you think you can trust are turning against you.  All any of these people want is what is rightfully theirs, now please just turn over the information to ICANN and close your site down.  Move to Belize, just let go of what's not yours and allow these people to get on with their lives.

RF is still claiming that they are ICANN accredited:
http://registerfly.com/info/about.php

They are still taking people's money without supplying services or goods.

I can't believe that in a country like USA this can happen. Can't you local people do something? After all, the company is US owned and operated. We foreign people are unable to do much at all, but surely there's an office doorstep that RF customers could gather around and make some noisy protest? Carry banners and bring some attention to what's happening? Get local police to arrest Kevin for fraud?

If I tried something similar to RF in my country I'm darn sure that I'd be arrested pretty quickly. Why is it so easy to defraud people in USA?

In addition to the actual money, there are domains that have been stolen, re-sold, lost, along with people's livlihoods and businesses.

Unbelievable that this is all still happening!

Actually Sagonet.com is the hosting provider for RF including VPS. They are refusing to allow customers access to retrieve their intellectual property claiming that once on their server, it no longer belongs to us - Outrageous!

I encourage everyone to call the tech support supervisor, Mike, and demand our sites be released.

I keep getting renewal notices on domains I've gotten out of registerfly, some months ago

last time I checked I still had 49 domains listed , only one of which is still there, a stupid mispelling I'll let expire anyway

seeing as registerfly reports itself the number of domains registered, I'd like to suggest the numbers they claim
are bogus, and include all the names that have been transfered away

$5000 per day = about 525 renewals and new registrations together

say 400 per day are renewals, including auto renews .. x 360 days per year equals a base of renewing domains of less than 150,000 ..

RF isn't making enough money at those rates to stay afloat, if there was outright continuing fraud going on, and people not being paid per the court orders, you'd think you'd see Kevin back in Florida or NJ court over it

I have over 70 domains I want to transfer them to enom any suggestion?
edt Registered | 2007-04-25 09:00:02
I got all of mine out. I only had a few, so it wasn't such a problem for me. Three of mine were under enom's jurisdiction, so they transferred them for me (before everything got locked down). We couldn't tell where the fourth was, but enom said it wasn't theirs.

I finally got ICANN involved, and within a week of my email to ICANN I received a phone call from someone at Registerfly. They had locked my domain, and because I had their stupid Protectfly activated, I couldn't access the account to change anything. They changed the email address for me, unlocked the domain and allowed me to transfer it. This all took place within two weeks after my initial email to ICANN, so stay with ICANN, they can get the job done (maybe only on a small scale like mine).

Keep at it.

I still have 26 domains that RF has locked me out of. Enom is just as Bad. The are profiting from RF's fraud at our expense. Selling my domains at their own auctions, saying that RF did not pay them the renewal charge, Even though I paid RF to renew. Enom claims they are theirs to sell, even though Enom has known that people are paying RF for renewals and RF was not passing the money along. My account has been suspended. I can not log in. When is ICANN going to step in.

my question: Where is law enforcement, the FBI even, in this mess? I'm pretty sure a bunch of laws, at least fraud or wileline laws, have been broken.. why is there no criminal action happening yet?
Flybert Registered | 2007-04-24 14:32:39
There are FAQ's and articles elsewhere on this site explaining how to get AuthCodes on not-yet-expired names, removing ProtectFly, and unlocking not-yet-expired names

While 9 of my names went over to Enom as they were the *real* registrar, I moved the rest to GoDaddy.com

I'm of the belief that when GoDaddy makes a transfer request, RF makes sure AuthCodes are available and domain status can be cleared/unlocked

I suspect this because GoDaddy is the biggest, therefore most likely to get ICAAN's ears regarding RF, especially when it means GoDaddy is losing domain registrations

I moved my last 20 or so domains from RF from March 28 thru March 31 with very little problem, had to unlock a few (again), and change a couple for contact info (again), but the changes I made happenned instantaneously, retry of transfer worked, and I typically got the transfer request from RF within 36 hours, which I approved immediately, and RF acknowledged each tranfered to "GoDaddy Software" immediately
flyswatter Registered | 2007-04-27 13:42:26
Actually, how it works is RF has the auth code and lock status at the registry. When godaddy wants to make a transfer they tell the registry. If it's locked the registry tells them. If the auth code is bad the registry tells them. If both are good then RF is notified that there is a request to transfer out.

GOODLUCK. I live 1.5 hours away from their offices and went storming in to their restroom stall sized office and got a song/dance and backed out the door. Calls/Tickets/Emails and now In Person visits don't yeild crap. They call that a call center? It's half the size of my tiny apt. and had 3 employees with no phones ringing, Kevin and an older gentleman were there. Kevin beelined out the door claiming a meeting. They also go under a different name on the bldg directory and door plaque now. I'm remaining ANON for now because I intend to make a visit in the future with attorney possibly. I've got around 200 +/- on the line over here so when I say everything else has been exhausted, I mean everything.

What does Kevin Medina look like? Kevin and Registerfly.com really messed me up. I like to know my opposition and cannot find a photo of him anywhere. Does anyone have any info? He seems to have ducked all cameras.

Most surprising thing for me is Paypal's behavior. Company, which states that fight against scam (in much cases, see the scam where it isn't - see paypalsucks.com site for users feedback), really supports scam!
(You probably couldn't call such situation as it's now with registerfly site differently than scam?)

Forget enom and others. Transfer to Godaddy and save your nerves & time.
(I've transfered all, expect several, which don't have auth_codes in registerfly yet...)

Maybe you had such problem as 'RRP' or 'auth_code' (wrong auth. codes instead of real ones) solved?
(or all these domains had right auth. codes..)

Hi All,

What a sad turn of events, I thankfully got the last of my domains out today, if anyone wants some help with it, I can go through the process with them that I happily went through.

If there are resellers out there that want to get out, and move the domains, getting cheaper prices than resellerclub without the need to pay a joining fee or anything give me a shout and I can help

My MSN is netearth {at} hotmail.com or chris (at) netearth.net .

ps I know its not an easy thing to say but chin up peops, Kevin et all, will get his dues...
DragonFire - Registerfly still reaping prof Registered | 2007-05-09 17:09:56
The rumors of registerfly stealing domains and using them for their own profit are true.

Registerfly stole one of our domains out of our account a day before it was due to expire, even though it was set for automatic renewal, they had our credit card info and money in our registerfly account to cover it.

They are now illegally using it to serve up sponsored ads for their own profit.

I checked the whois info and the registrant name is nothing gibberish but lists registerfly's phone number and address as the contact address.

We tried to renew it manually on the day it was due to expire and although they double billed us for it and took the money, they kept the domain and continue to use it for their own profit.

It is hoped that in the end any criminal charges in this case be laid at the feet of the principle owner not just the company entity he is currently hiding behind.

I would also hope that ICANN and the legal system will learn for this disaster and close the loopholes in the system that they have been exploiting so that this may never happen again or the entire Domain Registry Accreditation system will lose its credibility.
