An unknown number of
Australian companies and consumers have lost their Web sites -- and
renewal fees -- hosted by a US-based company.
Web sites hosted by US-based Web host RegisterFly have been
disappearing in dribs and drabs over the past year. The domains are
"parked" -- generally when they have expired, but attempts to renew the
domain by paying the fee mysteriously fail.
As every day passes, one has to wonder how Registerfly is still open for business and why? Well, thanks to an insider that works closely with Kevin, we were able to squeeze a little information from this source as to just how much money Kevin is continuing to milk out of Registerfly customers that have no idea as to what's going on with the company.
As Registerfly continues to fly high, Today ICANN finally gets a little action in the courts with a Restraining Order issued by a US District Court Judge in California that orders Registerfly to give ICANN a copy of all customer related data effective immediately. While this is a very important step in damage control, this does not stop or limit the damages that continue. The big question is WHY?
Registerfly is still open for business and still charging customers who come there to purchase domain names. We're asking that any of you who have made purchases or who have attempted to renew your domain names with Registerfly to forward this proof so that Clark Dummit can continue to pursue this lawsuit on behalf of the class participants. Please read on!
Many of you may have had the opportunity to experience the very pathetic hosting provided by Registerfly via sagonet.com. Some of you not only have lost the hosting during this mess but there have been some requests by users here expressing that while they not only lost the hosting, they didn't have a backup of these sites. This is a problem and I've contacted sagonet.com yesterday and again today when I didn't hear back from them and spoke with the supervisor, Mike.
