Enom CentralOk folks, I just got off the Phone with Enom (28 minute wait).  I've been given specific instructions on how to get names out of Registerfly that still list the whois as Enom.  You must do all of the following and I will update this if anything changes.  Please Read More for the instructions.  I've also forwarded an email to Enom to make sure of any changes or corrections that have to be made to this.  Please make sure you read-on in the bottom right of this article to find out more.

Registerfly - Get your names out! UPDATED!

All related correspondence is highlighted in yellow.

Enom can help.  There is one important condition that has to be in place before Enom can help.  This is that the whois information must list Enom as the Registrar of record.  I use Whois.sc.

Here is an image the shows where this is located:

ICANN Registrar

Is the key.  Doesn't matter that Registerfly is listed as the contact and the nameservers mean very little.  The important thing is your domain names ICANN Registrar.

Once you've established that your registrar is Enom, the proceed with the following steps.  Please do not call Enom because they are swamped with angry Registerfly phone calls.  Please just follow these steps so everything goes smoothly and you get your names out of Registerfly.

  1. Open and Enom Central account - Go to www.EnomCentral.com and open an account.  On the top right hand side of the page near the login and little key, you'll see 'create your FREE account '.  Their domain pricing is obvious much higher than Registerfly but don't worry about that now and I'll tell you why later.  For reference, here is the pricing information link.

  2. Email to Elida -  Send an email promptly, ATTENTION Elida.  The email address is: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Put Registerfly in the Subject line.  In this email you are going to include your login information to your Enom Central account and you are also going to include the list of your domains that are naming Enom as the Registrar.  So include these:
    1. Your Enom Central Login information
    2. List of domain names you know are in Enom.
    3. Express the fact that you'd like these domains removed from the control of Registerfly and put in your Enom Central account.
Update - Elida emailed me back with a few corrections and I've highlighted these.  Be sure to email her directly to speed up the process and you are also welcome to call her directly at 425-274-4500 ext. 4262.

Note:  if the domain whois shows registerfly as the owner, please send a screenshot from your registerfly account showing the domains in your account so that we may verify ownership and assist you in moving the domains into your account. Having this ready saves a lot of back and forth emailing.Under step 2: they may email me directly at elida -at- enom.com this will speed up the process.

I'm also ok with them calling if they need further explanation. I can be reached at 425-274-4500 ext 4262. If I am on the other line just leave a message as I can generally get to all calls by end of day if not then by the morning of the next business day.

Also, for individuals that have multiple domains with Registerfly and they wish to transfer them directly to eNom, I am able to workoutspecial discount pricing. If you have more than 5 domains that were affected, please email me directly so that we can discuss any discount rates that may apply.

If you need a screen shot program, go here for FREE Screen Shot software. This is the software that was used for the screen shot above.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  •  I have a lot of domain names.  Do I have to do a whois search for all of these?  Answer: Yes.  To make things easier and for this to go smoothly, come prepared and make sure you know that Enom is listed.  if you don't, then they will have to check each domain individually.  Save them a bit of work and come prepared.

  • Will it cost me more money? Answer: NO.  Base on my conversation with Enom Staff, it will not cost you money as long as you have time left before expiration on your domain name.  I was assured by Enom that you will not be forced to renew your domain name as long as it's not expired.

  • What about this charge of $160 for a domain I've already paid for renewing at Registerfly? Answer:  pricing information.

In regards to the redemption fee of $160, unfortunately there is not a way around that for domains that have gone past the 30 day renewal graceperiod. However, if the customer can show verification that they havepaid for the domain, we can process the redemption at a discounted rateof $80. A support ticket will need to be put in for this request and itmay take 2-3 days for the order to process. - Elida

  • What if my ICANN Registrar is Registerfly?  Answer: You're screwed!... Just kidding... maybe.  If it is Registerfly, then Enom has nothing to do with it.  Enom will not be able to help you.  Contact the Ombudsman.  You must deal with Registerfly to get a domain name that they control.  I know this isn't good news but that's all I can say.
  • What next? Answer:
    • File your compaint with the ICANN Ombudsman  - I shot another one off today, here it is :    Contact the Ombudsman
      • I'm am writing in regards to Registerfly and am pleading to you that you look into their fraudulent acts of domain theft and everything else they are doing.  Please visit www.registerflies.com
We don't know how they gained the approval of ICANN because they were doing bad business with Enom prior to the Accreditation but we are asking you to investigate these issues immediately.  Just do a search on Google and you'll find nothing positive or business like about this cancerous company supported by the ICANN Organization.  Many other letters have been sent and they are still able to continue the fraud.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.  Please also respond.
    • File your complaint with Internic
    • Forward your complaint to all of these email addresses I'm going to list for you.  I apologize to the folks in advance for posting their email but it's time that Registerfly and or ICANN start doing their job. Steve Crocker - This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it -Security and Stability Advisory Committee Liaison for ICANN.  He can also be found on his website: http://shinkuro.com , Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi - This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it -  Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi is Chairman of the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) in ICANN and is the liason from the GAC to the ICANN Board

    • National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C)

FYI, Enom and Registerfly are not partners.  Enom and Registerfly are not ripping people off together.  It's Registerfly that is the problem, not Enom.

Hopefully the above will be very helpful to some of you.  I understand how frustrating this can be and understand how important these domain names are to many of you.  You must follow through will all of these if you want resolve.

jvmccart - My domain is gone... Registered | 2007-01-29 13:17:46
I'll be filing in small claims court later this week since the contract for renewal was entered into in California. I'm also filing against eNom just to see what happens. I think they have some liability in this mess because they were profiting from RegisterFly's actions, and trying to profit even more on RegisterFly's incompetance. I will ask for the max ($7,500) and see what happens. I'd be happy with a refund of registration fees going back to 2000 (actually I'd be happy with just a paper judgement against these losers).

Elida has been helpful, but I'm wondering why I have to pay 160 bucks to get my domain back.
I'll be paying it, but it seems a bit excessive. As I said before, eNom is certainly profiting from registerflys bull$#!+.

We have - or had - a domain with registerfly due for renewal on Jan 22nd. We paid for this from credit we had with them on Jan 2 and later received a notice of successful transfer. And indeed registerfly is shown as the owner.

This was followed by endless demand for payment (again), raising of support tickets by us, and promises via chat to fix the problem in 24 then later 3 hours. Now finally, despite considerable effort on our part, our domain has slid into redemption status.

Any ideas on how we can move on from here?? And get our domain back on the net.

I got the following email today from enom:

************************************************** *
This is a formal notice to owners of domains which have been registered through eNom via its reseller, RegisterFly.com.

YOU MUST TAKE ACTION NOW TO RETAIN FULL MANAGEMENT RIGHTS TO YOUR DOMAIN NAME.

Although you purchased your name at RegisterFly, eNom is the actual registrar of record for your domains. As we are severing our relationship with RegisterFly, we are aware that this may have an impact on you as the domain owner.
Therefore we would like to offer this opportunity to assist you in securing control of your domain name directly with eNom.

Over the last year, eNom has become aware of an increasing number of complaints from dissatisfied RegisterFly customers.

As an eNom reseller, RegisterFly is contractually bound to adhere to certain standards of customer service in a speedy and diligent manner. Therefore, effective immediately, we have terminated RegisterFly as a reseller of domain names through eNom.

Our records indicate that you are the registrant contact for 11 domains.

HOW TO SECURE CONTROL OF YOUR DOMAIN NAMES

Create a free account at eNom using the link below. Your domain names will automatically be moved to the eNom control panel where you will immediately have the ability to manage your domain(s).
In addition, these domains will receive a discounted renewal rate

There is no charge for this service, as eNom is already the registrar of record for your domains. Please reference our list of frequently asked questions page http://www.enom.com/migrate/faq.asp for additional information.
We look forward to helping you feel more secure about your domain management.

eNom, Inc.
http://www.eNom.com
former registrar for RegisterFly.com

P.S.: IMPORTANT! If no action is taken, you may no longer be able to renew your domain name or manage it in 30 days.
The domain name will remain registered in your name at eNom until it expires. Please take action immediately. Thank you.
Registerfly Fraud - ENOM appears to have aided and Registered | 2007-02-06 20:25:57
PULLED THE PLUG on regfly Too LATE! Tale of the TAPE

Enom was a co-conspirators if not parent guilty party involved related to domain name thefts. I am disgusted at this blatant late attempt to suggest that enom cares a damn thing about domains carried and truly handled by them, that were manipulated and swindled from registrants. I know in time all the corruption will come out between the two parties involved.

The Reputation of Demand Media owners of ENOM will suffer as a result of this if nothing is done to compensate the victims of these criminal thefts. The President of Demand Media Richard Rosenblatt is no stranger to internet corruption, he took over when intermix was involved in corruption. If Enom had any common sense to plead innocent they would have a link directly on there site answering questions and what they are doing to combat the problem started years ago. The Bottomline is Integrity has no middle ground.

This Scandal can hinder if not Kill the Growth of a Internet Company or Venture Forever.[/b]
BlackWidow - Re: Help - any ideas? Try Pool Registered | 2007-02-07 16:43:06
I was able to get back about a half dozen names through pool.com for $60 each.

I now have all my domains registered for backorder with pool.coml as a backup measure.
kriaras - Icann.org is the main responsi Registered | 2007-03-06 10:00:06
Icann.org is the main responsible of registerfly.com fraud (and enom.com and any others which are hiding behind of this big scandal which disparage the reliability και the reputation of USA).

Registerfly.com would not have tried to do all those well-planed frauds if they hadn’t the support of icann.org

They knew that icann.org would not take off the permission despite the accusations that are coming everyday to them, in which they don’t do anything and they don’t protect the thousands domain owners who are trapped by registerfly.com

So, they sent fraud emails all the time which are telling for low prices and like that they gather domain names in their account and they don’t let them leave (they don’t unlock the domains and they don’t give author code to transfer them domains to a legal registrar) Also they hi charge credit cards, they charge credit cards without any reason, they let domains to expire without renew them and they keep them for them or they transfer them to enom.com. They sell domains, which belong to their customers, and they keep the money without giving them to the domain owners. I see my domains to be “for sale” in the Internet but I never gave them any authorization to sell my domains.
They are criminals but icann.org is responsible for all this because they knew everything and they didn’t do anything.

Thousand desperate domain owners from all over the world are trapped in registerfly.com and icaqnn.org continue to promote registerfly.com (and enom.com) as a good and authorized registrar for the domains owners!!!

Icann.org must stop immediately the registerfly.com frauds and allow to the domain owners to be transferred in other registrar as soon as possible!!!

Icann.org must go together with registerfly.com to the curt room!!!
