Just use and abuse Registerfly Support Ticket System... They will be sure to answer!

I've had all the same problems others have had with Registerfly. I was so mad last night I didn't sleep the entire night! I wanted some type of way to "get back" at them. Thought of a DoS attack...thought of spamming their exec's email addresses...but I came to the conclusion that those methods were really bordering on the grey area of legality...so, I ended up submitting a support ticket with all my problems and complaints, concluding it by asking them to renew (or at the very least to TRANSFER) my domains to another registrar (or for them to at least give me the authorization code to transfer). Yep, I submittied a support ticket.

But we all know how kindly and effectively they answer those tickets, right?

So...I setup FireFox with the "ReloadEvery" extension. After I submitted the first support ticket, I setup firefox to reload the page after I clicked the "submit" button. What that does is also resend the POST data with the ticket submission. I set the reload to the mininum of 5 seconds. So every 5 seconds I'm generating a new trouble ticket in their system. After 90 minutes it genereated about 1600 tickets!

Well, that seemed to get their attention, and they have now given me an authorization code, and the domain is in the process of transfer. If anyone needs help with this, let me know!

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ANYMORE!  IT'S ONLY MAKING PROBLEMS WORSE!

they are so terrible. I love goddady I've got like 22 domain names i need to transfer to Godaddy but first I have to renew 1 that expired and I paid it but their crappy system isn't working

the other thing is I ve got to make sure all my info has gone through with updates and remove protectfly so that I can get my email to transfer.

They told me they won't send a transfer code. and Godaddy has to send me an email or whomever. They are probably going to loose their biz this week people are so pissed about the renewal thing being down. They are NOT trying hard enough that should have been up months ago.

just ignore it , meaning do not do anythng. they have some sort of transfer when you renew your domain.
I had it to and got upset then. Do not worry.
Now on the other hand I sugest you try to transfer all of ypurs domains out of fegfly as soon as u can.
I know I will , that is when I finaly get back access to my account.. I have 2 domains that about to expire and no access to f**ken account still. It is long story so I spare it for now , but trust me, if i knew better I would get out of there last year after they lost my 5 yearesold domain by mistake. The renewal never went ok, and 90 days later it was gone. Yet still showed in my account as renewed, paid for etc.
regflyare the worst by the hour, calling is a lost time , ticked do not get ansfered any more, We all should get togeder and send this guys to court.

If you've renewed your domain name recently with Registerfly... If it works... hasn't in years... What happens is they transfer it away from Enom and into their own system. When they were doing business with Enom, Enom was reliable.

Get your names out of Registerfly. During a transfer like this and at any time they please, they will automatically change your administrative contact name and email to Registerfly so you cannot transfer out. The if you try to bulk change your Contact info, that doesn't work either, preventing you from being able to transfer out.

Registerfly just sucks, good luck with what you are doing but I personally would deny the transfer and call enom and tell them to open an account for you with them and then have them take the name from the hands of Registerfly. It will still show up in your Registerfly account and they'll continue sending you renewal notices to get your money trapped but ignore them and don't pay Registerfly or give them your credit card number. Just get your names out while you can because there are a lot of people working towards closing their doors altogether. A fraudulent company such as this should not be ICANN Accredited.

Today I got a confirmation for the last of 34 domain transfers away from RegisterFly an into to GoDaddy. I feel like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can't even imagine how many domains they will lose in the coming months. I'm a pretty patient guy and have been with them for years. I hope they lose so much business that they have to sell out to a reliable registrar and save millions of people from what I just had to go through. Even the transfer process was screwball. What a lame company!

I just wanted to say thanks for this site and I am having renew problems with 2 domains. The first one it took a week of being down before they got it fixed. They told me that the renew process was down and now I am having a problem with another domain with the renew process. I have been on the phone with support and they keep telling me it is fixed and new the domain again .

You know I paid to renew a domain name on dec.5th and I've been waiting and waiting for it to show up although they took money from my credit card my domain is NOT renewed. they keep telling me some lame crap

i finally talked to Godaddy figured out from C.Service over there that my contact info is still on Protectfly which means the transfer info goes to support@registerfly.com a dummy site/no answer email acct which has my domains LOCKED in the black hole.

So I finally called Registerfly and then after this MF yelled at me a few times I was able to BEAT the info out of him on how to change my contact info

by logging on to my REGISTERFLY acct
clicking the domain name
You will see a list of options

See the words Domain Contact info
click the +
Click Configure
Make sure all of your info is correct that you want to be visible. DISABLE that dam protectfly crap. They have everyone on protectfly basically to lock you into their site and they won't tell you how to transfer. I got into a literal argument with somene and kept calling and asking same questions over and over until someone cRACKED and told me...
then at the bottom UPDATE
then you go to Who is on Register.com or wherever and find out WHO is registered to your domain it may take 2 days or 1 day not sure.

when you finally see your info on there. TRANSFER your name immediately before they lock you up again. all my domains are/were locked with protectfly and the emails to transfer were going to support@registerfly which is b.s. and I can't get a code but REGISTERFLY claimed they don't give out codes like that the transfer has to go to your email

we should turn these people into BBB

I'm going to complain they are so unfair.

I have 3 domains with Registerfly since 2001. No problems until I tried to renew this past week. I paid on the 6th and all domains are showing up under eNOM. They've been sitting in the "queue" for more than 48 hours and I can't get any response from Registerfly. Does anybody recommend a good registrar other than GoDaddy.com??? I'm leaving Registerfly after this debacle.

We are the current registrants of the domain name betterroses.info, we have made genuine attempts to renew this domain with no luck. The status of this domain is currently in expired mode and the servers have been re-delegated to registerfly's default servers. I have noticed that the domain name "registerfly.com.au" points to "registerfly.com" indicating an affiliation. I have searched the ownership to a business name here in Victoria Australia. I intend to keep you posted. This activity amounts to "FRAUD" and must be stopped.

I can't believe it has come to this. After using RegisterFly for years with only minor problems, they have suddenly fallen apart. I'm about to lose a domain name I have held for 6 years due to their incompetance. I just sent a certified demand letter to their legal department on the advise of my attorney. What a shame! (sham)

After attempting to renew my domain for 2 weeks, I am moving to GoDaddy. I called customer support, and they basically told me I did not know what I was doing. I am transfering to GoDaddy, hopefully they will be better.

I called customer support again today, and the person told me how to get to my auth code. Thought I would share the info:
1) Login to your account
2) Go to Manage Domains
3) Click on the domain name
4) Click the plus sign on Domain Contact Information
5) Scroll to the bottom and click configure
6) Scroll to the bottom and you will see the auth code

THANK YOU!!!! It works! I can now get my transfers going. I have 26 domains left at RF, have lost a couple with their self-destruction debacle. Need to get the others out while I still can.

trader - Kept my money and the domain r IP:68.3.151.13 | 2007-01-07 11:49:35
Registerfly.com kept my money and the domain re late renewal.

Several mos ago I paid to renew a name I purchased at a forum (which had recently expired) but was pushed to my acct seemingly successfully.

After several days I was told (after lots of supt tickets and phone calls) the reason the exp date never updated and it was remved from my acct was because it was too late to renew. Furthermore, it could only be redeemed at a very high cost (so why did the regular renewal seemingly work if it was really too late as claimed)

Decided to not pay for the redemption. Months later still no refund of my renewal fee. Whois now reveals the name is owned by Registerfly and resolves to a PPC page of their own. In effect I paid for that ppc page of theirs for the year myself since they kept my money.

willfull - GET YOUR AUTH CODE HERE Registered | 2007-02-14 11:07:39
Maybe because of you doing this, and many people from your site doing it but I tried to get my AUTH codes using the support system and it would not let me submit the same ticket(same title) more than once. I don't know what to do about the AUTH code. It's not in my whois details on registerfly even after having removed protectfly. The one domain that is with enom has the words 'auth code' but nothing there so i have emailled them about it. hopefully that will work.

But I don't know how/when registerfly will respond to me about the other auth codes. Only 2 of my domains have AUTH codes on the contact information page but these are domains that are currently clientTransferProhibited' despite having had them more than 60 days. The weird thing is on my registerfly it doesn't say anything about the domains being locked.
gelo Registered | 2007-02-14 13:43:22
willfull, you know Ihave absolutely the same problem. Some of my doman names show the auth codes but some do not. I don't know what to do. Obviously it will be impossible to get the auth codes from Registerfly. Any help please?
gelo Registered | 2007-02-15 13:48:19
Any suggestion on how to get those codes if it doesn't work through Whois details? Thanks.

The auth code is no use if the domain is locked.... the transfer will still fail.

Mine show "unlocked" in my account but whois shows they are still locked...

Any suggestions?

Ditto, 31 domains all say unlocked

ok.. I'm trying to transfer my domain from registerfly, but the enom says that the domain is locked even though my prefs in regesterfly say that it is unlocked. Is registerfly intentionally blocking my tranfer?

btw it's definitely been over 60 days since I created the domain on registerfly, so that couldn't be the reason why.

any thoughts? similar experience?

That is becoming a real issue. Many people say that their domains show unlocked when through whois search they are still locked. What can we do?
admin Super Administrator | 2007-02-17 23:30:38
Please don't use this anymore, it only goes down to Kevin in Miami and they are all deleted. As of this moment you cannot do anything with Registerfly domain names until next week.

bigfoot Registered | 2007-03-04 05:32:20
Frequently the "bad user or password" means that they're at eNom

If check at whois.net (or somewhere other than RF) and take a look at the details of the registrar.
If you're with eNom all may not be lost. Follow the advice elsewhere on these forums for eNom with Protectfly on or other problems.
