Many of you may have had the opportunity to experience the very pathetic hosting provided by Registerfly via sagonet.com. Some of you not only have lost the hosting during this mess but there have been some requests by users here expressing that while they not only lost the hosting, they didn't have a backup of these sites. This is a problem and I've contacted sagonet.com yesterday and again today when I didn't hear back from them and spoke with the supervisor, Mike.
Wednesday April 11th I contacted sagonet.com data center and spoke with someone in the technical department and asked if there were some way that the folks that had hosting with Registerfly and lost this, if there were anyway that they could allow people to get back-ups of their websites or provide temporary hosting for the customers effected. They promised to get back to me yesterday but failed to do so. So I called again today and they do have the data and a back-up of the sites but due to the legal crap, they need a court order to release any of this data because it is technically property of Registerfly.
I spoke with Mike who seemed very nice and polite but could not offer any solution with regards to the hosting of Registerfly. He suggested we contact Kevin at Registerfly and he'd be happy to work something out with Kevin and Registerfly to allow users to back up their data. Since we all know that contacting Registerfly is one of the most difficult things to do, it's suggested that any of you that have had hosting with Registerfly, file a summons and complaint in small claims and get a judge to issue an order for sagonet.com to release the data that belongs to the customers.
