Quickly I want to update the Registerfly Debacle with the latest news story.  Please understand that there is going to be many more updates regarding the situation so I'm going to be brief and I hope that all the customers of Registerfly will find a little peace in what is currently going on.

Talks with the Officers of Registerfly

Today I spent better than an hour on a conference call with both John and Glenn at Registerfly and there's a lot of information that needs to be posted in regards to this situation but I'm limited on time so I'm going to make this brief in hopes that we hit the high points of our conversation.

  • Both John and Glenn have expressed their concerns about the customers and the domain names.  They could not make anything public any earlier than this because they were building a Federal case against Kevin regarding Registerfly.
  • They currently are on their way to the server location with a team of developers to start going through the data and have gained control of the servers that Kevin had them blocked out of.  It's going to take some time so sift through the mess but they've expressed to me that they are putting all their eggs in the Registerfly basket and are working to correct the wrongs that have been done.
  • Currently they don't know the extent of the damages but the will have a better idea of it by Wednesday.  They are working with both Enom and ICANN and are actively seeking assistance to help these customers that have been effected.
  • The customers most effected by the situation are the ones that names expired or are in the redemption status after the date of Jan 1, 2007 and some of them from Nov. 2006 - Jan 2007
  • They've agreed to update this site with information on a daily basis if there is any new information that will be helpful for the customers of Registerfly.
  • They are working diligently to hire a staff that will answer the phones and be able to assist the customers in getting their names renewed and back into active status for the customer management.
  • Both John and Glenn have stated that they are dedicating all the resources available to them to protect the interest of the customers that have suffered as a result of Registerfly and the unlawful actions of Kevin Medina.
  • It was stated that there is a Federal Criminal case against Kevin Medina.

My Opinion

Based on conversations I've had with both Glenn and John at Registerfly, I truly believe their heart is in the right place.  This entire situation has been the cause of a lot of lost sleep and frustration for the both of them as well as anyone else who was involved in all of this.

After speaking with them in great detail about the situation, I personally have a better understanding of what's going on and although I don't have the time to go into great detail right now, I promise to very soon.

This entire situation with Registerfly involves a very unethical Kevin Medina on one side of the equation and two (of what I gather), really good guys in John and Glenn.  The way I understand it, Registerfly was sabotaged in many ways by the former CEO - Kevin Medina.  It was explained to me that there were weeks when all the support tickets were deleted out of the system without anyone knowing.

This whole Registerfly thing seems to be turning from bad to better and I understand that many of you have suffered a great deal of losses and I'm going to do everything in my power to assist you in getting your names back and I will be in close contact with John and Glenn as they attempt to tackle this project.

Understand that Kevin messed a lot of things up for Registerfly.  There has been a lot of damage caused by his willful actions of deceit, immorality and the reckless nature of his actions against us, the customers.

John and Glenn both have had the opportunity to walk away from this but have chosen not to.  If they were to walk away, all would be lost for the customers and they wouldn't have the peace of knowing they did the right thing when it came down to the wire.   They've mortgaged their houses and have leveraged every resource available to make it right by the customers and if Registerfly is not able to bounce back from all of this, at least they know in their heart they did the right thing.

The Role of Registeflies

Registerflies was built while being on hold with Registerfly more than a year ago.  This website was established to build awareness to act as a public eye over the actions of the Registerfly company.

We we're here for you in the beginning and during this entire scandal and we're going to be here to the end.  Rest assured that I personally am working with both John and Glenn via phone calls and offerings on this site to protect you.

I ask politely of all you to be patient as things are worked out.  There will be a form on this website very soon that you will be able to fill out that will be forwarded directly to the powers that be so you can regain control of your lost or expired names.

Thank you all for understanding that I'm not switching sides here... I'm trying my personal best to provide the resources for the members of this community and anyone else who has been effected by this.

Updates will be arriving shortly, please please be patient.

I'd hold off on popping the champagne just yet.

How long have your new friends John and Glenn been cashing paychecks funded by renewals and registrations that their customers have been charged for which never actually went through?

I've personally paid enough for services not rendered to view their comments with skepticism.

Now we are supposed to believe they've suddenly seen the light?

Until my domains are unlocked and transferred away I'll have a hard time believing anything said by anybody at RegisterFly.
jaks - What about our lost domains? Registered | 2007-02-19 16:06:36
Ok you talked to them and you seem pleased BUT was there any mention about the cost for pulling an expired domain out of the garbage? If I have to pay anything like what some members had to pay I'll be just a tad pissed. I guess what happens next will show just how far they will go to make this right.

Maybe they could start by fixing the Security Certificate. Then again Google Adsense seems to be in the same boat, expired Security Cert. You'd figure that the BIG boys would never let those expire.

Thanks for all the updates. You made this a lot easier to go through because I was less in the dark after I found this site. Thought it was just me and my breath stank. :p

Plus, if they walked away, they would have to face justice too.

Which leaves plenty of customers unaffected and a door open to go on with the business, even when it'll be hard to keep those of us that felt hostages during these long weeks.

I wish them good luck and a bright future.

Ok, my last 4 days straight have been nothing but absolute craziness with the phones and what not.

No, don't pop the champagne just yet. Still much to be done, but as we speak, Kevin is being blocked out of the system.

I've received an email from Kevin directly under the name of legal@unifiednames-inc.com that makes some very slanderous statements against John and Glenn, but Kevin's back is against the wall. He's in a corner and stuff is just hitting the fan.

No you won't have to pay some hefty fee for the renewal of your domain name from what John and Glenn have told me. I've provided a form for you all to fill out in regards to your domains and this form is forwarded directly to the support staff working right now.

They will be working through the night on all of this and there are meetings planned in the next couple days that will shed some more light on things. Please feel free to go into chat and ask questions. I do what I can to answer questions.

This sounds very good but just a few days ago two of my support requests were deleted again. If the good guys took over already that shouldn't have happened.
Let's wait and see...

In due time, I believe through the registerflies site administrator John and Glenn will both have the oppertunity to demonstrate and offer an amicable resolve for all of us.

We should focus our attention from voicing our experiences to resolving our differences.

Thank you Admin, your efforts to keep us informed are highly appreciated...!

RF has a good database and well done interface and facilities. It will be sad if it goes down. If these guys can manage the system and go back to high standards, I will keep my fingers for them. I already said and say it again - I did not have problems with RF for 2 years and was very deprecessed
when the problems began.

I do not blame them and want to encourage, I understand how it is bloody difficult to establish such
things especially when the things go wrong and customers get on your tail.

Someone who doesn't understand it should try to run own databse with multiplay accounts and problems and numerous tickets what users create each minute. And they are all waitning and they all demand answers. They just do not wish to understand that even a simple answer "Sorry, we are trying to solve your problem" takes plenty time when they could do something useful instead.

What I would like to say to RF guys: Please keep us informed publically through this site. Please give us clear signs that you are trying to sort things, first renew your own SSL. Show us that you have full control on things. Inform us about the steps done and next ones, not necessary to e-mail each, just put some info in account main page.

Who is the owner of RF now by the way?

I did noticed that one of my domains what should be expired 3 days ago has a new expiration data in Whois now. I do not know if that is because of a software error but I like to think that it is
because you are trying to manage things

Anyway you should be more public, don't try to hide problems, we are not blind. If you really recover, do
well and we see your efforts, I believe you can save lot of customers.

I came through it myself. We worked for two years and everyone was happy. Then unexpected things began - server with clients sites went down some times a day for unclear reason. It costed me lot's of nurves, money and unsleeping nights but we did it. It is amazing how quickly clients forget good things what they experienced during two years and start shouting at you in a nasty manner after some days of problems.

I believe you can do it, be optimistic!

Would those be the houses and resources that have been paid for by the paychecks they've been cashing while their customers were getting screwed over time and time again?

I'm glad to hear that some progress is being made but I'll believe it when I see it. Actually, I'll believe it when I see it 5 or 6 times consistently. Until then, I'm judging them by what they do not what they say, and that doesn't look good.

Even if these 2 guys can get things back on track there is no way in hell I'll ever give them another penny. Once bitten, twice shy.

It will be a fine day indeed when every domain that I own (130) is accessible from my Moniker account and all the domains and funds that I have been jacked out of have been returned/refunded.

In this new age of Internet Business and where everything is so accessable it is pretty reasonable to asertain that until everyone in the world understands the quantum physics of our world and that what you focus on you create there will be some bitter lessons for all of us to learn. The growth of this industry like anything needs to be nurtured with positive and focused energy or those who have malicious intent will override our trusting natures. Mr "Admin" has unintentionally become a major warrior for good in an increasingly unchecked conduit called the internet. When they hijacked my site, even though I did not lose the revenue and business most others did, I was devastated as I have worked very hard and am a one person operation and I felt very alone. Until I found this site ...thanks to regflyhater and admin my domain was scooped back up when they discarded it and saved for me.
This is a very big event in the history of the www and we are making positive changes ...all of us. We must stay focused on a positive outcome to combat any and all out there who use it for their own advantage. I say wado Admin which is Cherokee for "I come in Thanksgiving" for you and your valiant efforts not only for those who have suffered during this but for spending so much of your valuable time from your own business to make this better for all in the future.
