The latest... Registerfly sends email to all it's customers making claims.  Click on the title or read  more to get the latest.  Registerfly sent this:

Discontinuation of using reseller services with enom.com

We are aware that enom may have sent a notice in regards to the
relationship between enom/registerfly.

As of February 2006 RegisterFly.com become an ICANN Accredited registrar.

We formerly used to resell domain services under enom.com but stopped
accepting registrations for them on February of 2006 (1 year ago). Since
we are ICANN Accredited we have no need to process new
registrations/transfers under enom anymore and spent the past year moving
large numbers of names away from enom.com to RegisterFly.com. The amount
of names remaining at enom.com is relatively small. Any
registrations/transfers after February 1st 2006 are directly under
RegisterFly.com, inc. which would not be affected by this.

Our top priority is ensuring our customers are not impacted in anyway
during this transition. If you are a registerFly.com customer, rest assured
we value your business and strive to offer the lowest possible pricing with
the best online tools. For a limited time you can renew/transfer your name
away from enom.com for only $5.99 per domain name. One year will be added
upon
completion of the transfer. If you decide to stay with enom as the
registrar you will pay considerably higher to renew than the special $5.99
rate we are offering. You can contact our customer care center at
305-674-0165 (8AM to 9PM) or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it on
specifics on how to move your domain name(s) over and take advantage of
these special savings today.

If you call within the next 48 hours and take advantage of this offer you
will be eligible to receive an additional $7.99 account credit towards next
years renewal.

...considering they "don't need" eNom anymore. I took an amusing screenshot: http://unique.poly.edu/~spawk/mailinglist.png

I got that email today it was very funny that they would do a stupid thing like this.. I mean come on its so childish to go and after there main people back em off there services to then say "oh well we havent used them for a year so fuk enom" thats pretty much what is going on.. Enom is the best! RFly has so many issues, i contacted them once regarding an issue about dns and it took 24hrs for them to say "Your domains are registered onto this dns.domain.com" so im like yes but they are not pingable... Takes about a week before a reply finally switched back to enom the gods!

One other thing, DONT BUY SSL certs from them as i had 4 that i bought and not one of them work on any of my servers nor will they refund me my money because supposedly my box wont work on theres but i got one from my ISP and its the exact same one an works fine.. big law suit coming there way very soon ..(not by me)

my2cents! thanks!

What is funny about this is that Registerfly hasn't been able to send automated e-mails to it's enom customers in over a year. The only people that have received this email are the customers that registered directly through Registerfly.

It's a shame that Enom waited a full year until only a handful of domains were left before acting. They should have acted earlier and now are just doing a PR move now that the problem has passed.

Let me mention in passing that it appears R'fly may have placed a misleading or false statement in its customer notifications [Note 1] since eNom has advised in their FAQ that they would allow former R'fly customers to continue to renew their domains at the original R'fly rates.

[Note 1: "If you decide to stay with enom as the registrar you will pay considerably higher to renew than the special $5.99 rate we are offering."]

They're still not answering the help tickets. That's what this is all about. If they just would have responded to problems instead of ignoring them, people (myself at least) would not be so upset.

R'Fly didn't really lie about the rates, however. According to eNom one of the domains I had a problem with at R'Fly turns out to be expired (even though the Registry records show it to be OK and I paid for renewal). eNom wants $29 to renew it. Also, you won't be getting $1.59 NETs registration, 60 cent INFOs registration or $3.99 COM transfers prices anymore. Those nice prices are what we lost with the downfall of R'fly. That's going to double the price of my operation.

This situation is both good and bad. We've shown a big company that people screaming together can be heard. At the same time, we're back to paying higher prices for domains.

(By the way, I talked with some of the people at eNom on Friday. Apparently, it wasn't just a few domains. This effects thousands of people. If they would have pulled this stunt 6 months ago, I think they would have been buried.)

Ditto here - I've had tickets open for well over a week now with absolutely no response. No responses to emails either, and the idiot on the phone told me I HAD to ask my question by email or through the site.

Hey Ryo, pretty soon there will be no more idiots on those phones because their next brilliant plan will be to disconnect the phone lines altogether.

Registerfly is the most pathetic organization I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. This has FBI written all over it and I can't wait til the feds move in and take control of this sinking ship.
