Have we got a treat for you! A full year of our L1 plan, including domain registration transfer and renewal, completely FREE!  ONE DOMAIN ONLY!

To help the struggling customers of RegisterFly (recently ICANN un-ccredited) DreamHost is letting anybody who has a domain currently registered through RegisterFly to transfer them to DreamHost absolutely free! You also get a year of our most-popular, fully-featured L1 hosting plan to boot! This offer is good for accounts with domain registrations previously with RegisterFly that sign up before March 31st, 2007 at 11:59 PM PDT only!

Make sure when signing up you choose the option for "I already own a domain, I want to host it AND transfer the registration for free!", enter a domain currently registered via RegisterFly, and use the promo code "FLYAWAY" at the bottom!

   The Fine Print:
  • This offer is for new customers only - those who do not have an active account with DreamHost.
  • If you sign up and forget to use the "FLYAWAY" promotional code, you WILL NOT receive the sale pricing (FREE). No amount of complaining will change this!
  • Domains and accounts may not be transferred from an existing DreamHost Web Hosting account to a "FLYAWAY" hosting plan.
  • We reserve the right to deny this sale pricing (FREE) to anyone at our discretion.
  • This sale will remain in effect until 11:59 PM PDT, March 31st, 2007.
  • At the end of 12 months, your account will be automatically extended at the current (non-discounted) rate. You will then be asked to pay for your account if you'd like to keep it. If you do not wish to continue at that time, you may close your account via our control panel.
No referral credit will be provided to referers of customers who sign up for this promotional sale.

Okay so I can't get access to expired domains or get auth codes for existing domains so how the hell can I transfer to DreamHost?

It seems a nice offer, but seriously though, if we can't access the ****ing codes then no offer, generous as it may be, will help. Not only that the sale lasts until Mar 31, which, theoretically, is the final day of RF's rule over us when ICANN will step in (yeah right). It's not such a gracious offer when you know full well that so many of us WON'T get access to our domains until AFTER March 31st. Shame on you for using the RF scam to look good, DreamHost when in fact, you really aren't doing us any favours.

Besides, how do we know that DreamHost or GoDaddy or Register.com or any other entity that does TLD registrations aren't going to piss in the pickles just like Registerfly did?

There is hope. Moose, I personally ask you to keep up the hope that something is being done. I spend my days during the week on the phone with many people and this whole ordeal isn't only getting media attention but much more. While I cannot get into details at the moment, rest assured that we are accomplishing great things with the visitors on this site.

When I can discuss more of what I'm doing and who I'm talking to, I will. But I assure you, this has gone all the way to the top and we'll do whatever is in our power to protect the rights of those effected by this whole Registerfly ordeal.

Well I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that this site exists and that it has been instrumental in helping a lot of people.

Keep up the good work, and THANK YOU.

I just did on your advice. Thanks for the tip...I hope it works, but the domain I need so desperately has moved into the hell that is expired domains held by Registerfly.

This sounds like a generous offer, which leaves me a little skeptical. What are the stipulations? Will whois infomation simply be carried over? I certainly think the offer sounds nice, but I handle all my own hosting and provide (mostly) my own primary DNS.

Does anyone have any experience with this company?

I just wrote to customer support at dreamhost.
I received an answer within ten minutes. The free deal refers to ONE domain. All additional domain transfers cost $9.95. So much for the free deal.
